Instead of the usual jaunt down to Florida, we traveled from the mid Atlantic to Texas this year. On the way down, we spent a couple of nights near Pensacola, and enjoyed visiting the National Naval Aviation Museum. It is always great to meet other Grand Design owners, and we continued our pattern of seeing Debby at a campground (in NY last summer on the way to the rally, in central Virginia last fall) when we both happened to stop for one night at the same park just outside of Houston. Nice unexpected ...
It was chilly, but very clear for our visit to the Blue Ridge Parkway last fall. We had a great weekend visiting with folks and eating great food at one of our dealer's monthly campouts. We also sampled a very good German restaurant just a couple of miles from the campground. From there we went over the mountains to stay at the Lynchburg KOA for an annual ride on the parkway and visit with family.
Despite the nasty cold rainy weather at the Virginia Beach oceanfront, we had a great time with our dealer's owner's rally last September. Again we met some great folks, saw some folks we had met previously, and enjoyed lots of great food. There was one other Grand Design owner at this gathering, and the couple who own the dealership were in a Solitude.
Another delayed post.... We enjoyed our visit to Central New York last summer to visit family. From there we traveled to the second Grand Design annual rally. What a great time! What great food! How fantastic to see everyone again and meet new folks.
Well, it has been a while since there has been a blog update. Last June was another trip with great folks and great food. After a short visit with family in Central Virginia, we joined the group at Anchor Down in Dandridge, TN. What a beautiful park! It was great to get together with Grand Design folks, even if it was so hot we staying indoors until dark. Of course the pot luck was great, and thanks to Grand Design for our dinner!
