    We went with the DynaBeads for balancing when we had our Sailun's installed a couple of years ago. So far they seem to be working fine. What I like with them there are no weights to fall off or move around or ugly marks left on the wheels when they come off. You know the tires are always balanced because they rebalance the wheels every time you take off.

    I used to use DynaBeads but switched for two reasons. If you are using internal TPMS sensors (like my truck and motorcycle), you can't use them - they clog the sensor. The second reason was that on my old bike, the mechanic wasn't happy that I had them ... apparently, when they dismount a tire, they are are genuine slip hazard on the floor. None of that is an issue with Centramatics and you can use them for the life of the vehicle without replacing every time you replace tires. With these exceptions, both systems work well and static clip on weights leave much to be desired, not the least of which is that as balance changes due to normal wear, static weights don't adjust.

    Ummm, it might be a little late to ask this, but what is the manufacturer's warranty on these Sailun's I just bought?
    All the dealer could offer was their own store limited warranty.

    So, I don't have a clue what the Sailun warranty is. But you need to know that I really don't care what any tire warranty is. Here's how I view this. You pay $200 for a tire and it self destructs - bad. However, you have a warranty that is always "pro-rated", meaning that the best you'll get is 75% or less of the tire purchase price. Even if they replace the tire, it's still only worth $200 to you. How about the damage to the coach? How about the inconvenience and hazard of sitting on the side of the road waiting for a few hours (or going through the hassle of changing one of these things)? How about the time spent "filing a claim" and the expense of shipping the carcass back to the manufacturer? To me, tire warranties are useless - don't need 'em and really don't care about them.

    Now, what I do care about is buying he best tire for the application, which in the case of my Solitude is the Sailun. Tough and dependable. Like I said, I'm sure Sailun has some sort of warranty, but my OPINION: I'd rather have a Sailun without a warranty than a Westlake with all the warranties in the world.

    Great thread guys, and lots of good information for those of use that are tire challenged :-)

    I'll be purchasing a set of Sailun S637 ST 235/80R16 tires to replace my Westlake tires which I've put over 13,000 miles on in the past 2 years. My Westlake tiers still look great, but I just don't trust them. I'm getting the MorRyde IS, disc breaks and 8k axle installed mid Nov so I'll have the new tires put on when I get the suspension upgraded. I already called MorRyde and they'll mount and balance the tires for $20 each. I figure good tires and a new suspension system (yep I had one of my springs break already) is good peace of mind for us. We began full time RVing last week so having our home set for the long haul is what we're shooting for.

    Before anyone gets the drizzles about their Westlake tires from reading forums, I've been running mine for 3 years now, thousands and thousands of miles, and not a single problem. I'm sure there are many others as well. I'm not going to spend a grand on new tires to replace the perfectly good tires I already have. I respect folks' opinions, but opinions are like a certain body part I won't name here.

    I run Michelins on all my vehicles, and I like them. I think they're the best. But I'm not going to prematurely replace a set of BFGs or other tire brand on a new car just because I like Michelins better. Same logic applies here. Trailer tires take all kinds of abuse and I believe the major factors in blow outs are tire age, heat and insufficient tire pressure. When these Westlakes hit 4 years I'll probably replace them because of age. Until then I'll keep the tire pressure up and keep an eye on them for signs of wear/bulging etc.

    Well, I have to eat some serious crow here. After posting the above two days ago chastising people for getting rid of their Westlake tires, guess what happened? I went out to get the trailer ready this morning. I found one of the Westlake tires with the tread separating (see photo below). The tire itself is 3 years 4 months old and I've had the trailer 2 years and 10 months since buying new. I now have to agree that these CHINESE tires are JUNK! To make matters worse we locked our truck keys in our truck along with my phone that has the OnStar app to be able to unlock the doors. I finally called OnStar after slinging some choice words around the RV park (no children around I hope) and they unlocked the doors for me.


    Mounted the spare tire and limped 50 miles to Show Low, AZ where they have a Discount Tire. Manager took one look at the Westlakes and said "Oh yeah, those." I bought 4 new Goodyear Endurance. He raved about them and said they've had "phenomenal" luck with them. Show Low is a big RV destination and he handles lots of trailer tires. Lesson learned. I'm not saying another kind word about Westlake tires. It didn't lose any air pressure and I only caught it early before blowing it because the bubbled side wasn't on the ground. Feel like I dodged a bullet. Goodyears made in USA. I'll never buy another Chinese junk tire.
