Our new 369 was popping. On advice from this forum I bought the Caterpillar additive. The man where I bought it recommended using a few table spoons because it is for heavy equipment. I figured the good fokes here and at GD knew what they were talking about so I put the whole quart in. ( Drain a quart, then add a quart.) Exercised the jacks and slides several times and haven't heard any more popping.
Thanks

We have the dreaded popping issue as well. I now know we need to add the Caterpillar hydraulic oil BUT does everyone really inspect once per month by pulling slides in and jacks up? We are full time and will be parked for months at a time. How is everyone else doing this? What about those that are stored in the winter? Am I missing something?

We bought 6 rubber pavers from Menards to put under the jack pads. Haven't noticed any popping now

Not to get off topic (popping) but I think everyone has their own comfort level regarding preventative maintenance. The following is copied from my Google calendar and is done monthly.
Check battery.
Clean, lube, and operate jacks.
Clean, lube, and operate slides and slide wipers.
Inspect water heater.
Inspect refrigerator.
Inspect roof and slide roofs.
Inspect underside of RV.
Inspect tires and check pressure,
We are just weekender’s but we do use out unit year round so there is no long term storage, I also have a biannual and annual check list.

I too have this issue. I cannot believe with all the experience in the industry the owners of GD have they cannot figure out how to build a trailer. Watch their video and they have the best of the best people but still have a lot of failures.

Where can we get the Cat oil that fixes popping problem?

Before you remove a quart oil and add the CAT oil. Which you should be able to find at any truck stop or camping world. I used silicone slide spray. I ran my front jacks all the way down, sprayed the Jacks at the top and wiped the Jacks down with a rag sprayed with the slide spray. Then ran the Jacks all the way up, then all the way down again and repeated the same process again. Once I did that twice I auto leveled and it has not popped since. I will do that every month now as the GD owners book says to.

Ok, thank you. My popping does not seem as bad as some I have read about in here. So far we always have AC running so popping jacks would not be heard while sleeping. Thanks again and I will try this first.

I had the popping noise on my 369RL. I talked to the Lippert rep at the Quartzite RV show and he told me to remove as much oil as I could and replace it with 15W motorcycle fork oil. I baught a small suction gun from Napa and replaced about 3 quarts of the oil. Problem solved.
