Am curious what the reaction is from the dealership world?

Open Range (Highland Ridge) was bought out buy Jayco. Jayco was bought out by Thor. I've seen nothing from either that quality has gone in the dumpster. Both web sites are the same for what that's worth. It's my impression that GD didn't need to sell like Open Range did. Not sure why Jayco sold out. Being that GD sold purely from a monetary position, it looks like Winnebago bought them to upgrade their lineup. That could be a good thing.
Right now there's only 4 brands that I would buy. Northwood, Outdoor RV, Lance and Grand Design. Hopefully things don't change at Grand Design.

As long as things go as we've been told, it should be a good thing.

We are already a Winnebago motorhome dealer (and have been for a long, long time) so we already know how they take care of their units.

One thing everyone needs to keep in mind, is that Grand Design has been 48% owned by investors since day one.

They have a six year contract. Grand Design is really just securing their future by joining with Winnebago, versus the investors possibly selling out their shares in 2 years to whomever pays the most. (THOR, Forest River, etc)

At this point, all owners and perspective owners should be glad that Winnebago is the company that is joining forces with GD.

Speculation is that the younger generation of the Jayco family did not want to continue. Maybe the older generation of Jayco wanted to retire, IDK.....

The 2 brands I'm looking at are GD and Open Range.
