Black tank Macerator idea
I have an idea and wanted to get some feedback. I thought about installing a macerator to the black tank and have it recirculate back to the tank. I know that it is used for pumping out but my idea is to pump the yuk back so it will clean out the tank better. So before you dump you turn it on let it do its thing then dump it out, fill with water several times until it all clean again. I think the pump recirculating would clean out the tank better. Now this idea is for mainly full timers and it is an involved process but I believe it will work better than just dumping straight out. I would also install it with a way to bypass the macerator if it should fail.

How would pumping "yuk" back into the tank clean out the tank better? Fresh water is the best thing.

Are you thinking of pumping it up through the black tank rinse intake? If so, I’m not sure that sounds like a good idea.

interesting idea. Seems like overkill. Using ample amounts of water when using the lav and flushing well when dumping should keep things working well.

Fresh water would be better than recirculated gunk. Evacuating the gunk....rinsing with fresh and repeating would seem to get it cleaner.

No. I would have a different hose to pump it back to the tank. Sometimes the bulkier stuff will stay in your tank no matter how much you flush it. This way the bulk it gone and it will use less fresh water to get it all out.
What changed for the new GD...
