Necessary for both of the Rams I had, a 1500 and my current 2500.

Also, I helped a friend with a Chevy 1500 turn his jack head (on a different brand trailer) and his tailgate still would not clear.

On our old Coachmen 313RLS, I spun the jack and relocated the battery and the bottles so I would have room for an expanded metal tray to hold blocks. So glad I have a GD 5'er now and have a "auto level" button. LOL

Here's how I did our old one. I also torched off the WD hitch brackets and welded them in place. Got rid of those nasty bolt heads inside. Battery moved to outside of frame where it could be accessed/removed easier.

What a smart idea. When I get my rig back I will look into it. Pain when the gate hits the control buttons. Kudos.

On our B2500 Van I had an extended hitch draw bar to clear the spare on the door. Just curious, what is driving this.

With my 2021 Ram 2500 and 2021 22RBE I had to do this to be able to lower the tailgate. Using an Anderson hitch. I also had to drill holes, but well worth the trouble.

If you have a Stromberg Carlson Jack, you cannot rotate the motor. You have to rotat the whole rack. Here is a link describing that fun project.

I rotated the jack soon after we got our rig in 2018. Watched a video on YouTube.
