Lights Over Kitchen Island

As far as regular LED bulbs go (auto bulbs like he 1076), I found the cool white bulbs (around 6000K ormolu) where easier to find because they are brighter lights than the warm white at 3000K. We like the warm white in the living areas and especially the kitchen, although I prefer the brighter cool lights for task lighting in the work shop etc. Amazon is great for finding products. Thanks for pointing them out. Its always good to have feedback from my Fellow Rvers than the Amazon feedback that the lights work as they claim!

To change the direction of this thread a minute, has anyone figured out how to change the bulbs in the mason jar lights over the island and the bulbs are elongated LED.

Call Grand Design. I'm sure they can help you although, if you you can find a name or part number embossed on the metal anywhere or there may be a label under the circular base around the rod with the manufacturer or part number. Then you can search for the instructions on the web.

Sorry, I don't have those type of pendants so I haven't a clue. I really like their look!

Anyone have the kitchen island pendant break while pulling the trailer? I have 2 of them over the island in kitchen and both have broken at the base where it attaches at the ceiling one each trip.

First a photo of the completed repair before reinstalling the light



1. Cut and file the broken area flat with the base

2. Material required - two fender washers to fit the pendant rod. Paint one black. I’ve had good luck using a black Sharpie to “paint” small items.

3. Place the one washer above and one below the base.

We found these guys at the Elkhart Rally https://rvledlites.com.
They have two piece bulbs that fit the sockets over the island. You choose a base with radial lighting 1076BS -430WW and a top cap with many more LEDs for down lighting to the island TC-260WW. I have tried several different LED lights in this location, but these are by far the best. We chose warm white lighting, but they also have cool white versions. You can even mix and match if you want, with warm radial LEDs and cool white down lighting.

I getting ready to change my light covers (globes) over our kitchen sink in our 374 Solitude later today. Pics to follow. It's too warm out there right now.

I purchased 2 - 5 in. Crystal Clear Pleated Shades globes at Home Depot. They are for ceiling fans. The newer design lights over the kitchen sink have a screw on light diffuser to the light shaft which is around 1".
Here is a couple pics with 1 light done. The camera made the new light look a bit brighter then it is. There is not the bright glare. Just more light throught out the kitchen area. KEN
