A large hose clamp, over the bayonet fitting, works well also.

Found this version on Amazon, for a extra view into the state of things and additional flush-out valve if you need/want that.
Kind of bulky but could also work if you don't mind that.

As @J Maguire wrote, one of the issues is incomplete draining of the dump pathway on some GD trailers.

We had a 2018 Reflection... no problem. On our 2018 Solitude the three tanks empty into a common manifold, which then drains out to the outlet. We can drain completely and close our tanks, but when we get to the next campsite we have cups or more of waste waiting for us at the outlet. It seems obvious that it gets trapped in the manifold and/or other parts of the outlet pathway and then gets shaken out of there while we travel on the road.

This is a somewhat-common problem, and adding the additional gate valve to the outlet lets afflicted owners control the sewage treat waiting at the outlet after they've traveled.

So it's just a 'wait and see' if your trailer gives you a surprise at the next drain opening? No specific model(s)?

I think that's more-or-less correct. Quite a few 310GK owners have the problem, but maybe I've noticed that just because we own one of those. There are many GD trailers - or maybe models of trailers - that don't have the problem.

So yes, fill your tanks, dump them, and go for a drive. Then keep your boots well back as you open the dump cap. If there's nothing there, you'll have to resign yourself to not enjoying this particular part of the Grand Design experience.

Can't speak for others but my extra liquid fun was established when brand new so it's always had the slow dripping problem. Was even looked at under warranty, the results were the same after being serviced.

I haven't opened things up to look, but others have and have reported that there's a design problem rather than just sloppy installation. They've concluded that repairing it would be challenging and have opted for adding the extra gate valve at the outlet.

I too complained about this problem while under warranty, and our dealer too claimed that they had repaired it. It's BS.

Typical of my experience with other brands of trailer....The dealer says 'it's fixed!'...and you end up saying...'no...no it's not'. Then you take it home and fix/remedy the issue yourself rather than leave it with them for another month.

I'll have to go for a test cruise before the first trip of the season.

I bought the last two the dealer had when I picked up our trailer in December. Just install them yesterday and, did the screw thing too. Great advice on that! Going to be putting water to our rig for the first time in the next week or so. Do the dewint, purge, check for leaks the whole thing. Have parts on standby.
