    1. I'm on the computer too much on the forum (more lately).
    2. I'm spending too much money on stuff for the RV.
I have the same problem. I watch you tube on a couple of Grand Design owners and I seem to be spending a lot of Money getting our Solitude ready for the road.

Very easy to spend money on these campers! Right up there with boats and race cars but at least its family fun and enjoy taking our 3 grandsons along.

Yep, they're a deep hole, but having had boats and race cars in the past, the RV is much more grandchild friendly, although my boys and the neighbor boys loved that boat. Right up till they discovered girls...

Just keep reading... We'll spend it well for you!

If you really want to question your financial sanity, compute the nights per year you need to be camping for return on investment! Lol.

No matter to hobby, rarely does the investment balance... I have too many askew - classic cars/restomods, firearms, tools & tech, RVing... Good thing Nikki and I only have a furkid because we're spending the inheritance!

Some other hobbies that don't financially make sense...fishing and hunting. Walleye and moose probably come in at about $100 a pound....

With the new owners looking for answers, it is not a shock the forum is growing!
We had a similar buying experience, When we first started looking at RVs we found a Solitude 5th Wheel that we really liked, however, we were looking for a good used Travel Trailer because we had a Ford E250 Van at the time.

A few years later, my wife comes home and says that if we are going to live full-time in our camper, she wanted an upgrade, I agreed. The next day I started downloading Grand-Design catalogs for recent years. Later that day I stumbled across a used Solitude 310GK with a complete video tour. When my wife got home that night, I told her that I "Fell in Love", we viewed the video and we both agreed that was going to be the rig we buy. After very little research, we found a new one about 200 miles away. We took a day off and traveled up to Jacksonville and made our deal that day. Didn't even have a truck yet, we had to get the camper delivered down to our storage site.

I thought this was funny and can't understand why anyone would take offense.

My wife and I lived on a 47' Elco Sport Fisherman for 4 years. If ever the was a more apt phrase then 'a boat is wooden hole into which you pour your money' I haven't found it. Still loved every minute until Christmas 1979 when when we woke up with a half inch of ice on the inside of the windows. On the flip side, our 31' TT with 5 kids and 8500 miles from New England to Arizona was a hoot which I'll never forget. My kids may have forgotten but we haven't - which is exactly why we want to experience the same again - maybe less kids and a bit more time for ourselves. No repairs then but I'm under no illusions with current stock.
