Certainly not a tire that needs that much weight to balance it. Would you accept a truck or car tire that was so poorly made as to take that much weight to balance it. I sure would not. I plan on replacing my Westlakes, that balanced out with similar weight as what balances my truck tires, with either Carlisle Radial Trail HD or Maxxis 8008. Both of these tires have as good a reputation as the the Endurance and based on using them previously on my other trailer, balanced out with very little weight. I also had very good service out of both of these tires in the past so I will be using one of these two. If I needed higher capacity I would buy Sailun. To each their own for what they believe will serve them best but such a severly unbalanced tire to me is not worth my money. JMHO

The best? What is the best truck? There is no "best" tire. Just popular models that people prefer here.

    Sailun S637
    Westlake G
    Goodyear G614

    For load range E tires:
    Goodyear Endurnace

On my last trailer I went to Cooper LT tires. I had to go up a wheel size but I wanted to get away from the ST tires. I took them off before I traded and they are going on the new 268BH.

Why can’t the wheel just be unbalanced and not the tire? how do you know that?

That is also possible. For me the bottom line is that there is something significantly wrong with all the weight to balance that tire/wheel and I would not accept it no matter which one it is. I think that the member with that tire showing how much weight is on it should have that looked into and if it is the tire or the wheel have it replaced. Something is very wrong there and I am surprised that the tire shop that did this actually let this go.

Again JMHO based on my knowledge and experience and know that I would not feel safe with that on my trailer, car or truck as something is very wrong there.

I deliver to a tire shop and he told me that they install Westlakes all the time. They never have a problem. He said the problem Is on trailers the tire sits most of the time and deteriorate and it’s best to put the camper on blocks and bring the tires in doors. Same would happen with a car that sat all winter and didn’t get driven a lot. Doesn’t matter about the brand of tire he said. [emoji2369]

I can believe that. Sitting tires causes them to rot. Tires need to rotate and flex to allow the chemicals in the rubber to keep them in good shape.

When I was a tire guy we had balance issues occasionally. When we did, we deflated the tire, broke the beads, and rotated the tire 180 on the rim. More often than not this solved the problem, proving that there are out of balance rims.

Were your Westlakes 10 ply or 14 ply?

How do you know you didnt have a nail or thorn that pulled out?

My standard load range E Westlakes barely went 10K miles on my 2015 Solitude 369RL, almost bald. They should never have put that tire on that vehicle new. We were lucky no blowouts, no accidents. I went online and bought 4 Taskmaster load range G, speed rated M (81mph) tires in December of 2017. Have about 14K miles on them, can barely tell based on tread wear. We’ll probably replace them in a year or two on general principle, but very satisfied, no issues. Also, we think it’s important to have someone check the Correct track Allignment system on the rig. Sadly, our dealer had no clue in general. You need to find a trailer specialist. Quality tires are probably your most important investment.
