As huntindog said it would be super easy. Just take a good pic of the label and move some numbers around. The color would be perfect. Just find the right sticker.

The max weight on the sticker is just a number. I’ve heard printing a new sticker is the fix. Getting the yellow on the new sticker to match yellow on old sticker may be the hardest part. And, others have suggested using round numbers to make it easier to remember. Who can remember 21,237? Just make it an even 26,000. Problem solved.
The yellow sticker is not a legal sticker. The Federal Safety Compliance Sticker that has your GVWR and GAWR is the only sticker that will stand up in court. So print away if it makes you feel good. Oh yes, your VIN has the class of truck and VIN search has all the same info that's on the Safety Compliance Sticker plus your payload ratings.

We'll likely be upgrading the TT in a couple of years and while I don't see us ever getting a monster and I prefer TT vs 5er the cost difference to go to a 3500 is minimal. This truck will be used as a DD quite a bit so my question is for anyone with a 2020 or 21 Silverado or Sierra HD truck, did you test drive both and is there a noticeable difference in ride unhitched? Thanks
I would always opt for the 3500 if you have the coin. I have a 2002 2500HD and I will replace it with a 1-ton. I tow a 2970RL, 9000 GVWR. Also, opt for the long bed.

    Hope that helps?
Boom - there it is ! I thought it was something like this. Where is this documented by GM ? I would like to have that. It is interesting that the prior generations shared the same components as many of us have mentioned (with a few differences) and now different here. I know a GM engineer and may have to ask him about this.

    Thanks, for sharing this.......appreciate it

From what I've read, on the 2021 models, the 2500HD has the 11.5" Ring Gear in both the Gas version and Diesel version. The 3500 has the 11.5" Ring Gear in the gas version and the 12" ring gear in the Diesel version.

A 3500 is ordered but a long bed won't fit in the garage or driveway.

If you go about 1/2 the way down on this webpage https://www.gmc.com/trucks/sierra/2500hd-3500hd/sle-slt and click on "2500 Transmissions and Axels" it shows 11.5" for gas and 11.5" for Diesel. If you go 3/4 of the way down for the 3500 it shows 11.5" for gas and 12" for Diesel. This is for the GMC Sierra but I don't think GM would have anything different in the Silverado but stranger things have happened.

    Hey Rob,

Nice Combo! I ended up with the 3500HD and yes I think if I ended up with the 2500 would I be rationing the amount of beer I can take!

Hey Kevin, Yeah, we're right up against it. Maybe 200 pounds under payload capacity when all loaded up. We have a rule when packing. Heavy stuff goes in the bunkhouse, light stuff in the front bedroom. I try to keep my Pin weight at no more than 2700 pounds if I'm traveling any kind of distance. I use a sherline scale and if I'm over 2700 I rearrange stuff or leave it behind. At that pin weight I'm right at my GVWR of 11,350. There's a CAT scale an hour from me and I weigh my truck and trailer if going that way. Otherwise I rely on the Sherline which isn't all that accurate but close enough for me. I really wanted a 3500 but they were nowhere to be found when I bought the 2500 and I needed a truck.
