    Thanks.
We have never been thru anything like before either so we had no idea what to expect.
We've only been involved in a couple of minor accidents in our lives and it was never our fault. We've been lucky.
When the dust is completely settled I'll update everything.
How they explained it is first the total loss department will establish value and cut us a check.
Then it goes to another department and they negotiate with our dealer of choice for a replacement unit and the cost of that unit. That department then pays the dealer the difference.

Our goal today is to contact the dealer and get a written quote for that replacement unit with the options we added.

    An update:
We have a 2022 2600 RB being built for us as a replacement. Our dealer, Lazy Days, Tampa, was able to secure a unit that was already being built and had the "standard sofa" which is what we had in our totaled trailer and is the one we prefer.
There were none in transit or in stock nearby that had that sofa.
It is due in Tampa around August 1st.
Then Lazy Days will have to install a slide topper, vent covers, and a Furion rear camera.

Our initial frustration with the process timing was because National General insurance did not explain the process to us. We thought it would be similar to car insurance where they would cut us a check for the depreciated value and we would be looking to buy a reaplcement ourselves.
However, that was not the case at least with our policy.
It was for full replacement, and since we didn't have a loan there was no "gap insurance " involved, which would have slowed the process according to NG (National General).

The repair estimate was done without anyone physically looking at the trailer. The estimator was in her office in Arkansas and the trailer was in an auction lot outside of Savannah.

Lesson learned: Take LOTS of pictures. Luckily wife is a photographer and had that covered.

Once the estimate was done NG determined it was a total loss. The estimate was $27,000 worth of repairs and they knew they would find more once they started. By the way the holdup on pricing was because of the decals/graphics. I still can't figure that out as that had to be a very minor cost in comparison.

NG determined the "value" to be what we paid for the unit in August of 2020 plus taxes and fees. They authorized that amount.

Then the case went to a different company that negotiates with the dealer at a corporate level for the price of a replacement unit. They also look for one in stock. In our case there was nothing available in our configuration so they negotiated a price for a 2022 including the aforementioned add-ons.
After it was determined a total loss, the rest of the process was very fast. It all happened within a few days.
We paid the $1000 deposit that Lazy Days needed to get an official order going at GD. We will get $500 of that back as we must pay the other $500 as our deducible. (and we may get that back in a few months if NG gets it back from the other insurance company)

So that's what I know right now.

Over all it sounds like they took good care of you in the end. I like reading a good outcome out of a bad situation.

I have to agree, you've been well-serviced by your insurance company! Heck, I'm downright envious! You wouldn't believe what we went through after a severe storm wrecked our home, prior camper, prior tow vehicle, Nikki's car, and my brand new daily driver!

    As a FINAL update:

We just received a $500 check in the mail from our insurance company to reimburse us for the deductible we had to pay.

So, all in all we did well.

I highly recommend National General (thru Good Sam) at this point.
