Plumbing System Rebuild - 2015 Reflection 303RLS
Over the last few years, I have posted about how to fix Kantleak system leaks, soft hose to Pex fitting leaks, a burst hose, the risks of leaving the water turned on, difficult gate valve operation and lack of furnace access on early Reflections. After wrestling with all of these things, I decided to rip it all out and build a plumbing system that would be the way I wanted it to be. Of course, this turned into a much longer project than expected (like that has never happened before ) but, each piece of the puzzle was not particularly difficult to accomplish. Not that anyone would likely take on all of this, but there may be ideas here that you can use. I post this story for those who have been following the bits and pieces of the project over several different threads.

Also saved PDF for future reference. This is INCREDIBLE work, Rob. At our age, how did you hold up working in those small spaces and up underneath the trailer?...

Hi SC Rob - I was constantly reminded that I am not as flexible (or as small) as I used to be . I had an old quilt that I would spread under the trailer to ease wear-and-tear on elbows and knees. At one point, I dragged out an old pillow to reduce neck fatigue while I worked on re-routing and re-connectiong all the fiddly little tank sensor wires. I looked over to see kids across the street looking at me very strangely as lay there on my blankie and pillow under the trailer .

Wow Rob, all I can say is you have entirely too much time on your hands...The Mrs. needs to give you more “hunny-do” items. . Great job.

Excellent job Rob! How long did this project take you, in terms of hours on the project, not total time?
Thanks very much for sharing! I really like the way you cleaned up the back of the KanLeak panel.George and Connie

Hi George - This is entirely a guess, but I probably spent 15 hours a week over 6 weeks putting this all together amongst other house and boat projects . . . so, something like 100 hours. With the disc brakes and other fixes/improvements, I probably have more hours into this trailer than Grand Design does .
