A little Covid humor
It’s interesting that all the restrictions people talk about haven’t really changed our lifestyle.
We were already introverts (with no children) so we didn’t spend much time in large crowds anyway.
We can still go out in the middle of nowhere and boondock for as long as we want, since we have solar. As a matter of fact, the situation RVers are facing with reservations and some being “stranded” is a great reason to have solar. It gives you a ton more options on where you can comfortably stay!
We’re currently staying in a mostly empty RV park that charges .17 cents per kilowatt for electricity so we’re not even connected to shore power. It’s 10:45am and we’re at 87% on our batteries!
The crappy part is we still get an electric bill for $2.00 every month because that is the “administration fee”.
Anyway, we still get up at the crack of 9:30, we still go outside and have breakfast, (because the RV park has massive sites with lots of room between rigs and there’s so many empty spots), we still go on long hikes nearly every day because we’re surrounded by thousands of acres of National Forest.
We play games on Xbox, watch TV, and spend time online with our laptops. We buy things on Amazon and have them delivered to our door.
Really the only thing that is different for us is having to shop at multiple stores and take some easy precautions.
Our caravanning friends have headed North to be with family but they are big meat eaters and have mentioned it is hard to find meat at the grocery store. Well, we’re vegetarians so again no impact. The produce department has actually started wrapping fresh vegetables in plastic before putting them out which is great because we constantly see people not practicing proper healthy processes in that department, like coughing into their hands then examining every piece of fruit.
We do count our blessings, and realize we’re very lucky to be in this unique situation...
Living in a “mobile” home, with solar, in a mostly empty neighborhood with wide open spaces and forests, outside a small town. And like I said having the option of being able to camp pretty much anywhere we want.
We’re not forced to go to work and don’t have kids or other obligations that force us into crowds. So yeah, our situation is definitely not the norm, and not much has changed in our day to day life.
By the way if anyone happens to be near Cottonwood Arizona let us know.
We can hang out.
By that I mean, not in public, not anywhere we have to go in the same vehicle and no hand shaking or group hugs.
Just bring your sanitized chairs over and we can sit “outside” 6 feet apart, and talk through our masks.
: )
We do have a million dollar view though.
An amazing view of the Prescott National Forest to the left and the Sedona red rocks to the right.
Our rig is backed up to the edge of a cliff.
We’re about 100 feet above the valley floor with a 180 view and can see about 50 miles.

Last summer the DW and I hooked up our camper and headed to Alaska. More than once on our 2 1/2 month trip we commented that this wouldn't be the way to rekindle a relationship. If you aren't already getting along spending a couple months where you are rarely more than 10 ft apart isn't going to help. We had a wonderful time and we got along great.
We have now been in the house for over a month. The kids stop by and drop off groceries. The grandkids give a quick wave. It's a good thing we're not going to Alaska this year.Norb

We had the whole summer planned out. Then the music started and everything got a little wonky, cancellations left and right. We took a temporary camp host job after the Tulip Festival got cancelled. More cancellations, closures, travel restrictions. We got real nervous about where to go. Then the music stopped and everybody scrambled to get a chair. We got lucky. Most of the State Parks closed and asked their volunteers to leave. Oregon State Parks allowed their volunteers to stay and "Shelter in Place". They didn't even require work exchange. We work, gives us something to do. But not being able to move about freely is taking it's toll. DW is getting a little crazy, so she is trying her hand at writing poet
I decided to try my hand at poetry, and before anyone critiques my masterpiece, I challenge you to do better LOL. And….Happy Easter!
PARADISE PRISON (aka Harris Beach State Park)
Today is Easter Sunday
The bunny wears a mask
He’s also wearing goggles
Do you even have to ask?
The coronavirus has caused much strife
It has even made me revise my life
I’m trapped in paradise prison
I cannot leave and roam
I never thought that this State Park
Would be our temporary home.
I sit here in my kitchen
Out the window I do stare
I see the ocean before me
And birds are everywhere.
I’m trapped in paradise prison
Empty beaches every day
People are non-existent
All afraid to stray.
I wish that I could visit Joe
I could drive there in a day
But I’m trapped in paradise prison
So it’s here that I must stay.
We exercise every day
Dallas has lost some weight
Exercise and maintenance chores
Have become our daily fate.
The pets are happy to be here
They wander wherever they like
They enjoy exploring the beach
And going on forest hikes.
The wildlife is abundant
Now that the park is closed
They walk around freely
And never feel exposed.
I am sick of my home cooking
But all the restaurants are now closed
So going out to dinner
Is indefinitely postponed.
I’m trapped in paradise prison
It could be someplace worse
I could be in a hospital
As a patient or a nurse.
I’m trapped in paradise prison
With my pets and my loving mate
So here we stay until the day
It’s safe to finally escape.Dallas
