I am going to do the diy version on my second AC.
Update to my 7/15 post regarding the poor fit for the Dometic AC units...

I contacted RV Airflow and told them of my disappointment. I sent pics showing the poor fit. About a week later I received an email from the GM asking me to call his cell phone. He explained to me that they had redesigned the tooling for the Dometic product. Thus improving how the product matched up with the vents and air dump.

They quickly sent out a replacement for the older version I had installed.

I have not had the time to install it yet, but wanted to let people know that the company believes in their product, supports their product, and offers very good customer service.

They made a slightly disgruntled customer into a happy one.

The bedroom unit is averaging 80 decibels & even though the living room unit seems louder it’s averaging 77 decibels. Has anyone else checked their sound levels?
Okay, on our 320MKS, the living room AC (15K Coleman Mach) is 55 db about 6 feet under it. The bedroom AC (13K Coleman Mach) is 59 db about 4 feet under it.

Both have the RV Airflow diverters in them.

Thanks. Just checked mine using same distance as you & I get 68 for living room Coleman 15.5 K with airflow & 70 for bedroom Coleman 15.5 K with no airflow. I appreciate your help. I need to find out why mine are so noisy.

Please note that I'm using a "professional" DB meter.

Not sure how my iPhone app compares to a professional app but my ears tell me the unit with the airflow is louder than the one without airflow!!!

My experience is the opposite. Not a dramatic difference, but noticeable. About 3db reduction from my app. Not a professional instrument, but apples to apples it is quieter for us.

Thanks, I appreciate your taking the time to help me. I emailed Airflow several days ago but they have not responded. Maybe because I mentioned I already had the product. All I wanted is some troubleshooting ideas for quieting the AC.
