Re: Awning Issue
Dave, No there is no wind sensor, but whenever we have wind the awning billows and flops all over the place.

Re: Awning Issue
I know from another forum that I belong to that someone has made up (and marketed) adjustable awning support poles from aluminum and employed tie down straps attached to the poles. He even designed them such that they're attached to awning arms and self-storing in the closed position.
If you're handy you can make something up on your own and use tie downs.
Our last camper was ordered with a manual awning...they thought we were nuts. When we camped with it, the awning was rolled out and put in the 'carport' position when we arrived and stayed that way until we were ready to leave.

Re: Awning Issue
There is pretty much nothing you do about the wind flopping the awning, except put it away.
It is not designed to be out when it is windy.
I have seen the supports on the FRF website, and they do look interesting, and everyone that has them, love them. I don't know if they would work on a Carefree awning though, as all the FR products use LCI or Dometic awnings...Steve- Inventory Manager at Tom Schaeffer's RV, Shoemakersville, PA www.tomschaeffers.com

Re: Awning Issue
I bought an awning anchor kit and that works pretty well helping to keep it down during wind. If it is super windy I usually put it in anyway, but the anchors help a lot. The only problem I run into with anchors is when I camp in the mountain the stakes will not go through rock.
