I am confused by the postings in this thread. Janice showed the Curt rack and indicated a combined weight of under 90 lbs. this is a 2 bike rack that weighs 46 lbs. add 2 small bikes of 45-50 lbs each and the hitch unit you are at 150 lbs. if the limit is 100 for the bumper is 100 this is too much. If it is 150 lbs, it is very limiting in bicycle choice for two. It appears that fastening a bumper to the frame is in fact the only real choice unless someone can give a bike rack rating that the ladder can support. In examining the ladder mounting I am concerned it would not suffer damage even the ladder mount racks are very lightweight.

    My setup:
Swagmann XC Cross Country - 28lbs
    2 bicycles -45.5lbs
    Swagmann 2" Bumper Adapter - 9lbs

82lbs and change. Under the 100lb limit.

Hi Janice, Can you tell me if the same limits apply to the 2017 Imagine 2150RB bumper? I was thinking I could take the spare tire off and put a 2 bike rack on in place of it as long as I stay under the max weight? Thanks for your help!
