Janice - Need Assistance - Broken Propane Straps

Janice - Can you recommend a source to find two replacement propane tank straps. On the curb side of my unit, the top strap broke right where the screw goes into the wall. The broken half was missing when I opened the propane door, so it's probably laying along the highway somewhere. The bottom strap has a hair line crack in the same place. It looks like the failure mode is due to metal fatigue.

My VIN number is already posted in the "About Me" section.

Also, if anyone has a suggestion for a more robust mounting strap, it would be appreciated.

    Thanks much,

    Jim

Thanks for posting Jim. Another thing I need to take a look at next time I full my propane tanks.

Gary - One thing you (and GD) might consider is moving the screws a little closer together so that the bend is not so severe where the strap comes out from the wall and wraps around the tank.

    Hi Gary,
I have the same problem on the Drivers side as well. It is also very difficult to close the clasp without bending it. I will lock at the screws ( thanks Jim ) to see if I move them closer together that maybe it will be easier to close.

In my previous 5er I installed ratchet straps for tank straps due to the same issues.
