Advice Needed - Is it ok to use auto leveler to change tires?

Is it ok to use the levelers (Ground Control® 3.0) to lift my Reflection 337RLS to change tires or do I need to buy a heavy duty jack? Thanks!

The manual says not to do that. When working on the tires I use the GC to level the trailer and then jack a tire as needed, the GC will then act like a jack stand. Use you best judgement to ensure safety.

Technically you are suppose to jack up on the frame but a lot of people just jack up between the U-bolt on the axle. In addition I originally used a floor jack but moved to a bottle jack which was lighter and smaller but pick whichever you like best.

We had the yellow one in the picture and even with a 2x6 under it the tire was still firmly planted on the ground. Sold it to a guy with TT and worked perfect.

If I was at home I would use jacks and jack stands but if I was on the side the road with trucks speeding by rocking the 5er I would use my 6 point level up with jacks stands for saftey. Since back surgery I use CoachNet which so far I have not had use.

Thanks all for the replies! Guess I'll look into getting a bottle jack. There's always something else to buy...

If you don't have them also look at a breaker bar, a torque wrench and a specific thin walled socket for the trailer and car wheels.

I have seen a lot of guys say an impact will ruin the thin polished veneer of coating on the lug bolts. I use the torque wrench to tighten or loosen the lugs then use the impact to spin them off fast. So far no damage to the chrome coating.

Forgive my late response to this thread but I have questions on this topic.

I’ve been warned that the drive up ramps should not be used with leaf springs. Can flip the bracket. I used to carry a large floor jack for my boat trailer but too large to haul on longer trips. So I’m back to purchasing a bottle jack..

Question is where to place it. Told not to do it on the axle as it is a hallow tube and can be damaged. Between the leaf spring Ubolts mentioned but it is still on the same hallow tube. The frame is 17” from the ground. Seems like a lot of blocks to set the jack on to get lift.

Would appreciate any feedback on where to place bottle jack
