Towing an Imagine 2150RB with a Ford F150
I'm looking to replace our current trailer with a larger one. The current trailer is 3200 lbs dry weight. I have a 2006 Ford F150 4x4 SC with the 5.4 L. The maximum towing weight is 7800 lbs. The Ford pulls the current trailer, loaded, just fine. I saw the 2150RB and I like the layout and features, but it is 2000 lbs more than the current trailer. Loading a 2150RB (5200 lbs) with another 1000-1500 lbs of gear, water, etc. starts to get close to the max towing weight. The Ford only has 85000 miles and is in good shape. I don't want to buy a new trailer and a new truck. Does anyone have experience towing a 2150RB with a similar truck or can offer opinions on this combination? I live in the Pacific Northwest and we have a fair number of hills and mountains to go over. Thanks.

The tow rating is the maximum you should pull. But, long before that, you will exceed either your payload rating or your receiver rating.
Estimate the tongue weight of the trailer, using the published dry tongue weight, battery weight (50-60 lbs w box), full propane (20 lb for 20 lb tanks, etc), the weight of your WD Hitch, plus 15% of your guess as to the total weight of stuff you will load into the trailer.
Look on your receiver for it's maximum rating with a WDH (usually a sticker underneath). Or look here: http://www.fleet.ford.com/towing-guides/ Still good? If so:
Look on your door for the maximum payload, usually on the tire sticker. Take the above weight, add to it the weight of all passengers/dogs/etc. plus your estimate of additional stuff added to the truck - bed liners, running boards, generators, camping gear, etc. If you are still less than the door sticker, then:
Worry about whether the trailer weight will exceed the towing capacity.2017 Imagine 2670MK

I did not see if you posted what you rear gear ratio is? I had a 2005 F150 4x4 XLT with the 5.4 and 3.73 Gears and I towed an Aerolite 30BHSL with it. That 5.4 did not have the power like the Ecoboost does nowadays but it got us there and did very well. I think you will be fine just always take you time this is no race.
