Skylight
We just bought a new Reflection 315 RLTS TT. One thing that annoys us is the amount of light and heat that comes thru the skylight over the kitchen island. I suppose I could spray paint over it but there may be times we want the light to come through. Any suggestions? How have others dealt with this?

You can buy aftermarket shades that open and close. After we make a couple of trips in ours, we will be deciding whether to buy one. I don't have the manufacturerer info or website though. I've seen them mentioned on one of the forums.

Take the screws out of the cover that go into the ceiling and go to Home Depot or Lowes and get some light window tint and apply it to the outside of the cover you just removed and then re install it.Done !

Thanks. This might just do the trick. It sure beats my original idea of duct taping newspaper over the skylight. lol

If you buy the tint that "clings " vs the other type that sticks like tape it is much easier to work with and looks very nice after a couple of day`s of sunshine on it.

I took some measurements today and I need to do something too. The outside air temperature was 91. The ceiling measured 88F. The opening for the skylight was 108F!!! I can only imagine how hot it will be when summer gets to Arizona.

Here is what you need guys ... with the reflective surface. We use it in the bedroom when going to bed. Helps insulate as well
