Wondering How Bad it Will Be

I woke up this morning to a foul order of galley water. I smelled under the kitchen sink. Sure enough, it smelled horrible. I took off the tank vapor cap and it worked. I removed the drain pipe protector and removed the steel wool I had put there for mice preventative. I looked down the hole and smelled the bad order of the water. Turned on my flashlight and saw water about 3 inches from the bottom of the floor. I ran outside and looked at the bowed chloroplast- pushed on it an there was a ton of water from the front axles back. I cut a hole about the size of a dime and started draining the water. Had to have been at least 20 gallons of water being held in the belly. Does anybody know how much wiring is down that far? Nothing from the black tank gate valves forward. I will have to wait until the sun comes up to drop the chloroplast to see the damage. I think the drain pipe into the gray tank has come lose or disconnected somehow.

Not sure if yours will be the same as I saw before, but the wires I saw laying on the under belly were just laying on it. I saw no boxes or connections laying on the black material. Sorry about your issue, I hope you get it resolved.

Hope it wasn't real bad and you got it all fixed. What connection ended up being the problem?

The collar into the tank cracked for some @#$!!#$ reason. As water drained into the tank, some drained and leached out on the chloroplast slowly filling up. Who knows how long this has been going on. What I think happened is when we first bought the unit the kitchen table was too long and when it slid in on the slide it would bump up against the island. Not bad but it was rubbing a noticeable mark on the island and the table. GD contacted Mclain's in Fort Worth - warranty work. Mclain's was advised to move the island about an 1/2 inch toward the stove. When they did this it torqued the drain pipe and broke the collar..........I think. I don't know. But there was at least 20 gallons of water sitting on the belly. I have an extended warranty so this will be covered. I am going home in a couple of days and Im going to let them drop the galley tank. What a mess...

Your explanation for the cause of the damage seems reasonable to me. Glad you found it before any real damage took place.
