New GD and New to RVing
Hello everyone,
Just wanted to introduce ourselves. We just bought a lightly used 2015 Solitude 369RL. It is about the biggest unit we can pull with our truck. I originally wanted to get a Airstream but after looking inside we(wife) decided it wouldn't be roomy enough. We plan to visit as much of America as we can and depending on whether we like this lifestyle, sell the house. The Solitude had just been taken on trade and it seemed like a very good price. We have been looking a little and liked the the rear living floor plan but hadn't planned to buy this soon. Our goal is to retire in a couple of years and see the national parks.
This forum has already been a help in getting info.
Thanks
Doug and Ruth

Congratulations and welcome to the forum and the life style. Be sure to get a National Park Guide Book, there are a lot of NP's and National Monuments that are not famous but are wonderful. Also make your reservations at National Parks very early, they tend to book up during June, July, August. Something to do with school being out and summer vacationing.

Doug and Ruth,
If you are over 62 get a National Park Senior Lifetime Pass for $10. It will allow you to get into parks for free and bring 3 other people on your car for free also. It also gives you a 50% discount on most camping fees.
If you have a dissability you can get a Free Lifetime pass that also gives you the above benefits. The dissability just needs to be permanent. A VA medical card where it states "Service Connected" no matter what the % of dissability classification. Proof of receiving Social Security dissability benefits also qualifies.

Drag your wife with her driver license down to a National Park that issues passes soon. There are rumors that the $10 Lifetime senior national park pass will be going to $80 very soon.

I have a $10 senior pass and later found out about the disabled free pass. I have a VA service connected disability rating so I got one of those also. I keep one in the car and one in the wallet. I also have a senior Florida Resident pass for Florida State parks. Try to cover all bases.Jerry & Linda
