Progressive industries HW50c Instal 377 MBS

Greetings all. New to the forum and to Grand Design. I have on order a Solitude 377 MBS due 2nd week of March. Im thinking of ordering a Progressive Industries HW50c (hardwire EMS) and installing myself. The dealer wanted $375 (more than the equipment itself) in labor costs to instal!. I previously had a TT with portable EMS, but want a HW version so I don't have to worry about it walking off. If anyone has a 377MBS where does the main power line enter the RV. I assume behind the fuse panel but not sure. Any tips greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I think it's just like the 379fl. The power comes in right behind the front pass through storage. You unscrew a panel and the cable is right there. Me I have insane bad luck. I mounted my new ems and it didn't work .spent two hours online troubleshooting it. Now I'm waiting for the new one go arrive. ...

That has got to be frustrating!...I have watched a few youtube vids and read some forum posts. It seems fairly easy to instal as long as I can figure out where the main power enters and a reasonable place to mount. It seems a lot of people mount behind the fuse/breaker panel.

Be sure to order the one with remote display. If it's like my 379. There is a lot of room behind the storage panel. The hookup is fairly easy. The hardest part is cutting the cable and bending the stiff cable in the box. Progressive industries is awesome. They had no problem sending me a new one.

Mounted mine on a 4x4 block to keep it off the deck in case I get some water back there.

Man, you got that right. The wiring is like steel rods! Install is super simple otherwise.

I agree with all that, and the wire sensor's on the black and red are very tight together in the box. I cut my neutral wire about 3/4" longer than the other 2 and it would go across the top of the sensors. Sure makes your fingers sore messing with that #6 wire

Having it hardwired is great peace-of-mind. We installed the dual-display option. One display is upstairs on the master switch panel, the other is mounted with the switchbox at our convenience center. That way I can watch the readout when I plug in, then switch it to the upstairs display.

I flush mounted mine to keep it raised up and see the display. Then hardwired to remote display for inside the coach.

Those are nice installs. Mines next to the transfer switch on the floor behind the panel. It is in a plastic case though.
