Might as well jump in here and say hi, new #303 on the way
Hello all,
We have been following this site for quite some time now (unregistered) and have had a Reflection #303 on order. I have been camping most of my life (on the ground!) and we recently sold our 1/2T and TT and are moving up to the Grand world. I never knew how little I knew and how smart you all are. I am truly amazed with the wealth of knowledge. I do not think there is a topic or problem that has not been already addressed somewhere out there! This site has been a wealth of information, some just interesting to follow and some will be very useful. Of course the grease seal topic caught my eye and have been following it closely.
Just FYI, when I requested to the dealer (Sac. Happy Daze) that all wheels and drums be pulled prior to delivery for a "grease check", they told me that for every Lippert axle coming in, that they are doing this as part of their pre-PDI. I about fell over! This is so pro active and good news for future owners. The more info we get out there, the better, since knowledge is power! I think part of the reason that so many GD owners are talking about and checking this, is that the group as a whole, seems pro active about the topic. Until recently, I had never heard of such a problem and I have owned and or pulled trailers much of my life and never heard of this in large amounts.
Something has changed, either the type of grease, quality of parts, machining or human error however all is solvable with a tear down and regular maintenance. This has the possibility to be such a serious and dangerous (plus expensive) problem on the road, that I cannot figure out why it is "still a topic" for either GD or Lippert. Will post something after PDI and see how it went.2016 GMC 2500 HD Denali Crew Cab 4x4 Duramax

Gold CL--yes welcome.......kinda like that 303 ourselves ! This forum is a wonderful source for learning and sharing among the many respectful, caring, and courteous folks out here.......very refreshing in this day of too much flexing of the digital muscles on too many other sites.
Your comment that your selling dealer is pulling EVERY LCI company product brake drum for leaking grease seals is extremely interesting. It would be interesting to learn more as to how this procedure came to be (for just the 1% problem as LCI beats the drum on.) If you learn more about this, please share it.
Have fun with your 303 and share pictures at some point !

Welcome and congratulations on your new 303. We have had ours a little over a year now, about 7k miles on it and love it. Parked on a site at our home our kids and grandkids would rather stay in it than the guest room in the house. Check out some of the owner rallies nearby, lots of fun and a great way to make new friends.
