Asking for Campground Recommendations at/near Mammouth Cave Natl Park, KY

After the Spring Rally at Crossville, TN, we are considering continuing on to Mammouth Cave in KY. Can anyone recommend an RV park/campground at/near the park. Most I have looked at have poor ratings. I'm not sure about facilities at the park itself. If anyone has visited Mammouth with their camper lately, we would appreciate any insight you have.

I have used Singing Hills at Cave City as a stopover before. It's a Passport America park. Nothing fancy but it was clean and the owners are super nice folks.

We stayed at the National Park campground for a couple nights in late Sept. 2015. At time, we had 20-foot travel trailer pulled by an SUV. At that time of year, place was fairly empty, but there were a few bigger rigs in there.

No hook ups at all, but I recall sites were fairly big and level and access roads were no problem. They have showers and laundry facilities at campground office... bring quarters for the showers! Pretty basic stuff, but we were happy enough with it, our needs were simple at the time.

We stayed at Cave Country RV Cave Country rv

Nothing to write home about, appeared to be new, close to the highway. Dropped in, went caving, came home, left. 2 nights. Didn't really pay too much attention to it, it was acceptable for the short time we were there.

We've stayed at the Jellystone that is nearby several times and have always enjoyed it. Usually tried to reserve one of the spots that bordered the field (sites 10 or 11 I think). It's been a couple years as we moved to the east coast, but I know they are doing a lot of renovations.

We stayed at Cave Country RV one night in late December on the way south. Clean; easy in and out; very helpful staff. Had a decent pull-through and utilities worked well. As D2Reid said, close to the highway. Also near a Cracker Barrel. We didn't use that exit's several gas stations as they did not appear to be equipped for fivers or MHs (or maybe we were just chicken ). I remember hearing the rumble of a train upon waking in the morning, not bothersome. Would stay again, but we like to try out different parks, so next month we're overnighting at Singing Hills (as also referenced above); those folks were quick to get back to us, price is right (Escapees discount), and they do have some pull throughs. Happy trails!

I've been very impressed with most Kentucky State Parks I've visited. That said, I've never been to Nolin Lake State Park. It's within 10 miles from Mammoth Cave.
There are only 32 sites, they all have water and according to ReserveAmerica 50Amp hookups. There is a dump station shown within the park.
You may prefer more amenities than a state park offers. Many do, but it's an option if they have available sites.
