Ordered New Solitude 369RL
Hi All!
Hello from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. My wife and I along with Barney and Molly (our shih-tzu/terrier dogs) recently took the plunge and ordered a Solitude 369RL. Delivery is forecasted for early November and we just received word that our trailer is currently on the production line so, it appears to be on – time - yea! Very important, because we have plans to head south for 5 months on December 1st. We will be in the Florida Keys for Christmas. All this, just to avoid kennel charges
After much searching and studying specifications we decided on the Solitude 369RL as it met most of our requirements (never can find the perfect RV). The solitude has a larger kitchen space with the great pantry. The bathroom is larger and a single room, and even the bedroom is larger and brighter than our previous trailer, a Cedar Creek 37RDTS that we had for 3 years and enjoyed many trips. I even think the storage compartments are larger. An we like the external colour design that sets the Solitude apart from the rest of the 5vers out there.
One major - major issue we ran into was the "buying local issue” as there are NO local Ottawa Grand Design Dealers. Luckily we found a local independent RV Service Center ( I will pass on the name if that's allowed). After consulting with Grand Design, we found that they would allow us to have our trailer serviced there under the Grand Design Warranty. The two closest Solitude dealers were 120 miles (but in another province) and 300 miles and would luck have it, we struck a better deal with the farther one
Our 2010 Dodge Ram 3500 Mega Cab (short bed) 4x4 SRW Diesel 6.7 Cummings Engine, with a Hijacker manual slider hitch (air ride suspension, AMP running boards, & other toys) definitely has ample power to pull the trailer as it has similar weight and size specifications as our last trailer. We also haul two 12ft Wilderness Pongo kayaks on the cab’s roof with a Thule Rack system using Thule Hull-a-Port PRO Kayak carriers. We also take along 2 Trek Pedal Forward bicycles that I will ask for some help in the appropriate forum.
Hope to meet some of you on the Road!

Re: Ordered New Solitude 369RL
Congratulations on ordering your new Solitude 369RL. It is always hard to wait on your order to come in - but just think how much you will enjoy it when it gets in.
We also have the 369RL and really like the storage and solid construction. You made a good decision.

Re: Ordered New Solitude 369RL
Thanks for the warm welcome
Our trailer is finally at the dealer 8) We will be getting it on November 11th. We are so excited!
We are also so impressed at how fast Grand Design was able to build our trailer and the special attention GD spent checking out our trailer as they know that our first trip will be to Florida for a few months. Even the dealer, Layzee Acres (Sebright, Ontario, Canada), is taking extra care getting the trailer prep'd for us. Just in case, we are camping at their campground for a couple of days to make sure everything is working before we start our 6+ hour drive home to pack up for our trip South.Aaron & Donna

Layzee Days RV Service for our new Solitude Was Amazing
We finally received our Solitude 369RL. We hauled our cedar creek trailer the 7 hours to Layzee Acres RV Sales & Park to trade in for our brand new Solitude. We arrived on a Monday To ensure we had time to address any issues with our new trailer. That was the smartest thing we did. As it turned out, we needed the week to fix the issues. First of all the weather turned very cold below freezing with some icy snow; however, Layzee Acres RV is a well planned out family run operation with amazing people working for them. They were Very hospital and made sure we were ok to ride out the weather in our trailer(s) and made us extremely comfortable and would have done more for us if we needed it, but we came well prepared.
Aside from the minor issues and options not as ordered, we had a major problem with the propane furnace not working. Lazy Days worked in conjunction with Grand Design to repair it; however, we are finding out there are still some minor issues. I will explain these issues in the appropriate forum. The second best thing we did was not to rush Mike, the Technician ( who is brilliant and a great guy) to repair the trailer. We wanted the job done right and not to have stressed out Technician working on our trailer. Layzee Acres RV did vey thing to make thins right and compensate us appropriately. thanks to Thomas, Felix! Josh, Rachel, and especially Mike ;D I know, I'm forgetting some names, but thanks to everyone there.
I highly recommend Layzee Acres RV, there service is second to none! It was a great experience,
Oh by the way! you have to try the restaurant "ERA67". The food is too die for! ;DAaron & Donna
