Just Got off the phone with Grand Design.....
So we have on order a 2017 377 MBS-R unit....couple of things
1) I emailed our dealer yesterday regarding tires that would be installed. When we ordered back in Janruary, on the brocheur there was an option to select Goodyear G rated tires. The dealer was in touch with GD regarding this. GD called me to inform that they no longer have the option for Goodyear tires, all Solitudes are now shipped with G rated Westlakes. I voiced my concern regarding blowouts..failures ect. He said that they have not received negative feedback regarding this at this point. (yet!). The Westlakes will come with a 1 yr no questions asked replacement and $35 credit for install from GD. ( I will probably run for a year then replace with Goodyear or something else). 5 yr manufacturers warranty after this for defects.
2) I asked about Lippert Bearing issues. He readily admitted the issues and then explained how Lippert has remedied this problem changing from a manual packing proceedure to a 750k automated machine that is much more precise in the packing proceedure (video of this was posted on the forum the other day.) He reassured me my unit will have the new hubs. I will be sure to let you all know if I have any issues, and I will definitely ask the dealer to pull the wheels and drums to evaluate as part of PDI.
3) I did ask what specific model of Lippert Rotaflex Kingpin assembly is installed so I can order the appropriate capture plate for pullrite hitch. He is looking into this and I will post a follow up once I know as well.
4) The GD rep was very helpful with these concerns and questions. It was really reassuring to have the manufacturer call me directly. In fact the dealer must have given them my cellphone. Great customer service!
Our unit is scheduled to come off the assembly line tomorrow...so hopefully delivery in a few weeks...whoohoo!Ryan and Alison

Congrats on the new rig. My experience is that working directly with GD is always a positive experience. Dealers.....not so much!

Hello and good morning Campsurveyor,
I belive if you have a auto glider type hitch, you would need a capture plate.
I hope this may help you out.

My take on Westlake tires: We had them of course on our 303 and was fairly confident in the tires until we got about if i remember about 1000 miles and just over a year. We were lucky as we had one come apart at a gas stop and then i replaced them all. Westlake did reimburse for one as a good will gesture, but my though is to really keep an eye on them. Good Luck & Be Safe! ! !

Attached link to Pullrite Capture Plate Fit Chart: http://www.laseritefab.com/CP_Fit_Chart.pdf
You can measure your pin box and if it is a Lippert 1621 as Hunter references you can see the choices. I believe the one we have is the Quick Connect 331704 for our 303 pin box. Call Pullrite at 574 259 1520 to get correct information and learn about capture plate options if your dealer is not informed and/or you just wish to get it direct from the horses mouth.

xs 2. Always check the tires while on the road at rest stops and if possible when parked take the tire off the ground so you can inspect every inch. Thats how we found the 1 tire with tread seperation well after 10,000 miles and the tread looked good on the others (we were replacing them soon due to age anyhow)
Better to find it before it rips apart while you're on the road.Marcy & Gary
