    Bill,

Thanks for reporting and attaching a picture of your hitch aid. I love it. Now I have to find a red rod tomorrow.

BTW, I see you have the first version of the Andersen metal funnel. The current version is a Red Plastic that should work well to remove metal to metal contact and be more friendly to keeping the ball in pristeen shape.

    Jerry,
Thanks for the note about the plastic funnel. Andersen is sending one to me.

Finally re-hitched my trailer to truck this past Friday, and this thread and comments in other Andersen threads inspired me to make some more measurements and take some pix. Photos and measurements are in driveway, but not level, as street side ground is about 2-3 inches lower than curb side, and front of truck is slightly angled down the mild slope of my driveway at spot photos were taken.

    Andersen Hitch arrangement is:
-No mods to pin box position from factory (Lippert) as-delivered.
    -Coupler on pin is ball-forward
-Hitch in truck bed is ball-aft
-Hitch ball height is at lowest position.

Pix show about 8.5" side rail clearance on street side, and 5" on curb side....so if ground was level, would be just about 7" both sides, which was about what it was when I took it away new from dealer lot.

Also have 8" horizontal and 5" vertical clearance at tailgate, for pin box and trailer overhang, respectively.

Had no clearance issues when taking it out to dealer for service Friday, and no new useful data on turning arcs and clearances; will try to get that on return trip later this week.Click image for larger version.

Sorry to necropost, but this is great info. How did you end up running?

Just great, thanks! Did raise ball to middle position after kingpin box kissed truck siderail in a badly angled turn early on, no problems since, and still rides pretty level. 25 months full time and ~12,000 miles towed, still loving it.
