Re: What GPS is everyone using

I have an older Garmin Nuvi that has the 5" diag. screen that is on a dash mount but am looking at the RV 760 Garmin but wasn't sure where to mount it with the much larger screen.

Those of you who have this unit where are you mounting it in your tow vehicle?

I try to keep it mounted as close to my line of vision of the road as possible.
That is why I do not like units mounted in radio faces.
I want to reacquire the road ASAP

Thanks for the info Shamu, have my current unit mounted in a weighted dash mount, would probably go with the windshield suction cup mount like you did if I make the change.

The 706 comes with the suction cup base standard.
The power cord plugs into the base, then the when you mount the head the terminals on back make contact.

I have a Rand McNally RVND 7725. It is too large to go on my dash where I put my Garmin. I have ordered a Ram Mount--it will go into one of the cupholders (4 on the F250). You can get one that will hold an IPAD, a GPS, or a phone. The one I ordered is adjustable and should hold my new GPS.

We have used a Rand McNally RVND 7720 for a couple of years along the East Coast and up into New Brunswick and Nova Scotia with very good results. Has a lot of features like truck stops, rest stops, height-weight-length, etc.

Garmin 760 on a solidly bolted support arm with the power wire led up through the dash.
Makes for a nice clean easily reachable location. The nav unit comes off the mounting shoe really easily so is always stored out of sight. We also have the compatible wireless back-up camera which displays on the same screen.

I use the Rand McNally for RV App on my Ipad. I get a large display which I can read in a glance. It allows for you to add the height of your trailer and will route you based on your data input.
