DIY Dump Valve / Kantleak Panel Repair
So we are on our US Tour and I've noticed for a long time that the dump valves are really giving me problems. The problem is that they drilled the holes too large through the panel so the black plastic stops are slipping through. I've tried multiple times to tighten the backing nuts on the backside but that really makes it worse and they are now moving around when I pull and push the handles.
So today I decided to try and fix it. I explained to Deb that I was looking for something shaped like a horseshoe and thick as a heavy washer that I could slip between the outer "nut" and the wood panel. Deb and I roamed around Home Depot trying to find something to use that wouldn't require me to take the handles apart. I looked in hardware, I looked in plumbing and electrical. While roaming through plumbing Deb grabbed a SharkBite Disconnect Clip. Voila! Perfect!
I turned the clips upside down and cut off the the ends of the horseshoe and slipped them behind the outer nuts and, again, a perfect fit. Just tightened up the backing nuts and all fixed!

Cool beans Poppy I was going to say to use some sheet metal that they have at Home Depot but that's even cheaper
