Pullrite GMC/Chevy OEM rail/puck quality control issues

Just thought I would share my recent experience with the pullrite OEM puck system for 5th wheel prep pkg on the GMC/Chevy. I have had two issues with mounting posts that come as part of the OEM rail kit part number 4444. One of the four original posts sent with the kit had a cross threaded nut and so I had them send out a new post. The new mounting post had an issue with the brass bushing that would not fit down into the puck/frame of truck. I had to use a Dremel tool to remove excess brass material so it would drop in. There seems to be some quality control issues with their mounting posts. I really like how the overall system works but this is unacceptable for a $2k hitch.

Sorry to hear that has been an issue for you. That is always frustrating. I have a 2017 F350 long bed with factory installed 5th wheel prep kit ($300 with the truck before my discount) and the B&W Companion Puck 5th wheel hitch ($950) http://www.turnoverball.com/products...rd-puck-system and it went in like a breeze (less than 30 minutes). It can handle 20,000 lb and seems rock solid after towing the first two times with it. I'm super happy so far.

Hi Dan- I did send them an email similar to my post. I agree that overall quality seems great... I had the tools and patience to fix the problem so it's should be smooth sailing from this point forward. The OEM option for GMC from pullrite has only been available for 6 months or less (Ford/Ram quite a bit longer I think) and I suspect there are still a few bugs to work out.
