    Refrigerators while in storage

I have the 2800BH with the outdoor kitchen. The place where we store our RV has electricity. Should I leave both refrigerators running or shut down? If off, what's the best way to store it? Open door or shut? With baking soda? Thanks in advance. Bryan.

We shut down the refrigerators when in parked in the storage lot and leave doors open so as not to grow mold.

The refrigerators are not self defrosting so if you leave them running they will build up frost/ice on the freezer walls. So before storing we turn them off and let them defrost with the doors open and wipe up the water from the melted ice with a towel before storing.

We keep the trailer plugged into 120 vac shore power to keep the battery charged when at the storage facility.

The day before we go out on a trip we turn the refrigerators on to cool them down. It takes a good 10+ hours to get them cooled off. Pre-cool any foods or drinks before putting them in the refrigerator.

In season depending on use I might suggest leaving them stocked and running. Then you don't have to bring everything to the frig before heading out. Just the basics you might add here and there. Having a trailer stocked makes using it that much more enjoyable/easier. Being that you have access to electricity I would say to leave them running. Also, you'll want to make sure you have a dehumidifier running.

I've always stored it off. Door slightly open and a cup full of charcoal briquettes inside never had any mold issues

We've just always stored ours OFF with the doors slightly open. Never put anything inside the fridge or freezer. Over 8 years we never had any issues.
