Florida East Coast Recommendations Requested

Hey all, we are in the Keys until the 13th and I'm starting to get nervous about our trip north as that upcoming weekend will be Easter. We came down the gulf coast and were thinking we would head north on the east coast.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

We just did a week at the KOA in St. Augustine and it was great. Just a 3/4 mile walk to the beach. Clean area with nice beaches and limited number of crappy shops. CVS Pharmacy and Publix nearby. 7-Eleven that sells diesel just across the intersection. Easy access from I-95. Good luck!

Well that might work down the road but too far for one day from the Keys.

I prefer to drive 250 to a max of 300 miles a day and that's 460 miles.

Poppy, may be a little out of your way, but take a look at the Okeechobee KOA. About 35 miles west of I-95 or you can avoid 95 with alternate routes that are good!

Treasure Coast RV Resort in Ft. Pierce is a nice place.

John Prince State Park, just south of West Palm beach.

That's a busy camping weekend for locals.

They are pretty well booked but Call daily for a cancellation. 561-582-7992 -You may get lucky. They only take reservations via phone.

Not sure if too far for one day, but Jetty Park in Cape Canaveral is fun. Watch cruise ships float right by your rv, beach, fishing, etc.
North Beach just N of St Augustine is nice, not cheap, but not much is right on the water.
Flamingo Lake in Jacksonville is good too as you go further North. Or you can hit Georgia Coastal RV in Brunswick (site of the SE Rally)
We have not been there yet, going for Thanksgiving this year. Lion Country Safari KOA N of Palm Beach. Wake up to the sound of roaring lions.

You could do a overnight stop at Savannah campground south side of Fort Pierce quiet easy to get to from I95 not large and not fancy but has dog park

John Prince Memorial Park in Lantana, FL is pretty nice. It's a county park and not well advertised.

Jonathan Dickinson State Park in Jupiter, FL is really nice if you can get in.
