    V Lights Switch Mod

Got out to the camper last night to work on a few things. Finished up my 3 way V light switches and indicator. Replaced the switch in the pass through with a SPDT on-on switch and added one with an indicator in the bedroom. Used 4 conductor wire I had but could have gotten by with 3 conductor.

    Parts list (all JR Products)
    2 - SPDT switch 13095
    1 - Double switch base 12315
    1 - Indicator light 13115
    1 - Red lens 13125

Took me 2 tries to get the right indicator light to fit in the base. No documentation out there. Now I will know from inside the camper if I leave the V lights on so I can use them more.

12 v DC or 120V AC for these lights? I assumed all along 12V, however when I lookup the switch part number it appears to be a 110V AC switch. I would like to add some additional light strips and was planning on running them off of the same switch leg as my V Lights. The lights I have ordered are 12V DC, so may have to find another connection point.

    Thanks

V lights are 12VDC. As long as the switch is rated for higher, you are good. If you look down in the description you will see this.

Thanks, knew that about the switch, just wanted to make sure I wasn't mixing AC and DC lights.

Do you have anymore pictures on how you looked everything up for second switch? Also what size wiring did you use and how much do I need? Also is it possible to tap into this to add more accent lighting under the rv?

Here is a picture of how I wired it up. I think I used 18 GA wire. Been a while since I did it. Don't see why you couldn't tap into it for accent lighting. I don't think I would use it for the switch area. For that I will probably use a wireless remote so I can change the color under the camper if I want. I haven't planned that out yet.

    Hope that helps.
