    High pressure metal valve stems

I'm looking at installing TPMS add on sensors to my 2017 Reflection 337RLS trailer. To do so I want to replace the rubber valve stems with metal stems to prevent failure of rubber stems due to movement.

Is there a source or part number for metal valves stems that would fit the current 2017 Reflection 337 wheels? I understand that 337s being delivered today have metal stems and G-Rated tires.

I've got over 10,000 miles on the trailer and four times that on the truck OEM rubber stems and TireMinder sensors.
(Which is OK by their requirements).

So far no problems with short rubber stems and TPMS sensors. I was also told it was OK.

After four years and two different rigs I had a rubber valve stem fail. We were in the campground and getting ready to leave. I had a low pressure alert. Tried to air up and heard it hissing

If I could find a reasonably priced TPMS system with automotive type sensors that work on trailers that would gem you preference. The only ones I can find state they won't work on trailers or RVs and only work on short cars less than 6 meters and are limited to less tha 50 psi.

That's why I'm looking for metal stems that are confirmed to fit our wheels.

Hi Jerry, I'm with you, why take a chance.

You might be able to get away with metal valve stems from your local auto parts store, I did that with my last trailer, 16" wheels, Discount Tire Company mounted them up.

On my 303, the 15" wheels have an unusually small diameter hole for the valve stem, challenged me to get them tracked down. I called GD, they put me in contact with the vendor for the Sumac (?) wheels, who put me in contact with TiresAndWheels.Com (plural for both tires and wheels!). I gave them the diameter, $16 and a couple days I was on my way to DTC.

    Peace of mind.

    Safe travels.

Yeah, I had all my trailer stems replaced and even the stems on my new truck as soon as I bought it. I just had my local Discount Tire install them.

These are the metal valve stems I've used on the last two trailers. They fit the Lions Head wheels and allow adequate clearance for my TST507 (Non flow through) sensors. I had Discount Tire install them.

    Hi Jim,

I tried those on my 337 (early 2016 model) also. GD must have changed wheels because the washers were too big and wouldn't fit. Ended up having to use the type with double nuts on the inside. Belle tire had them in stock.

    See you at the rally.

Now you have me wondering if different wheels are being supplied? They fit on my 2014 337RLS and my 2017 297 RSTS. How odd. We'll be in space 403 at the rally.

    Jim
