Furrion back up camera always on
So I am new to the TT game but it seems strange to me that when the battery is on or we connected to power the back up camera is on. I would think that it should only be on when connected to my tow vehicle. Am I wrong?

I am fine with it being on. It overlooks my backyard. YMMV though.

Yup goofy set up indeed. I bought a $20 wireless remote switch for it but yet to install. Plan is to splice it inline someplace and use the remote in the truck to turn it on and off

I fished the power lead up to my center clearance light and spliced into clearance light. Now camera is only on when lights are on

I did a wireless switch on my 2800BH. Different switch though. Link below.
With help of others I found that the wire for the camera shared a fuse at the panel. Tried putting my switch behind the breaker/fuse panel but then found out that the same wire also powered some of the AC. Searched up in the ceiling AC unit and found 2 red/white wires and a red wire spliced together. Figured out which red/white went to the fuse panel and then put the switch on the other red/white. The solid red was the one going to the AC. Now I have a remote in the camper and one in the truck so I can turn the camera on and off. I also added an LED indicator switch in the ceiling AC so I remember to turn it off when camping. Works great. Many others have done it on the Facebook page.

I installed a remote on mine. Did not want to prematurely burnout the camera and it was fairly straightforward for someone with basic wiring skills. The video below was posted a few days after I installed mine, but follows the same process.

I found my camera wire in the back cabinet by pulling down one of the puck lights and using a fish tape to probe for it. Once located, putting in a switch was pretty easy.
