Changing to 16 Inch Wheels on 303RLS

Hello! We recently purchased a 2016 303RLS. Has anyone out there changed their wheel and tire size from 15 to 16? I was told that the 303 would accommodate the 16s, but just wondering if it is worth the cost to have the stronger weight capacity far exceed the axle. Thank you in advance for your comments!

I am waiting on delivery of our 2018 303rls. On RV trader I found another April built 2018 that showed the recent changes . One of them seems to be that it came with 16" E rated tires. Once ours comes in I will let everyone know if indeed the 303 comes standard with 16's.

As much as I would like to have 16" wheels (and the much greater choice of tires that this would bring), I just couldn't justify the cost. We have 3 years and about 14,000 miles on the 15" wheels under our 2015, without any wheel or tire problems. We are on our second set of tires (based on tire age) and have not had any problems with either the original Westlakes or the new Maxxis.

Hey Dan . . . yeah, this both retired, fixed income, etc . . . takes a little more financial planning!
It was really more about me wanting disc brakes more than I wanted 16" wheels and tires .

We made the decision to upgrade to 16" wheels and tires after several of our camping friends experienced blowouts on the original tires, all made in China. The damage from one blow out exceeds the cost of new wheels and "made in USA" tires. Many owners use the OEM tires for thousands of miles with no problems. We do a lot of long trips on Interstate highways in the summer and like our LT "made in USA" 16" tires with the higher speed rating.

We added 16 wheels and corresponding tires in with our purchase when we took delivery of our 303, no problems with them fitting.

We are picking up our new 303 next Tuesday. We spent a couple of hours this past weekend going through the trailer before the dealer started cleaning it up. One of the great things on the 2018 models is 16 inch tires - standard. It has the added benefit of raising the leveling jacks a couple of inches higher (around 9" from the ground). The 16 inch tires look very beefy. Should be a great addition to the trailer.
