Adjust Pin Box Height
Has anyone raised their pin box height to lower the front ride height of their Reflection? I've lowered my B&W Companion hitch to the lowest holes but the front of my trailer is still riding a little nose high. We are about to undertake an 8 hour trip (each way) and I'd like to have it more level.
If so was it difficult and could you provide any pointers?
Also what are the torque specs for the bolts?'17 Reflection 30BH

Following...I'd like to do the same thing with my 30BH which also sits a little nose high. On the other hand, I don't have any clearance issues with my current hitch setup and don't want to create any new problems.

I have moved pin boxes before and the key is to leave two bolts in so you can swivel the box into the new position without having to support the full weight. Hope that makes sense. Sorry can't remember torque.

Pinbox bolt torque is 90 to 110 ft lbs per LCI manual.
Will you be able to retain sufficient clearance between the trailer overhang and the box rails of the truck ?

Another alternative is axle blocks. That would allow proper clearance to bed rails.

It's not difficult to raise or lower the pin box. As stated above, leave one or two bolts loosely connected. I used a 3/8" x 18" round rod inserted thru the box so I could then remove the last two bolts and pivot the box down/up to the next hole.

I did it on our 27RL with a 2016 Ram 3500. Lifted the pin box as far as I could. I have the gooseball Andersen Steel version hitch set to the lowest ball position. The RV is still a little nose high but I have 7" of bed clearance. To get the RV perfectly level, I think I'd have to do the frame lift(mine is an early 2015 that does not have the added subframe).

Thanks for tips guys. I just picked up a new truck (Ram 3500 CTD) this weekend so now I have to change my B&W Companion Slider base out for a regular base that works with the pucks. I'll have to see how the 3500 suspension and new hitch base affects the height before I mess with the pin box.

You should have a helper for safety sake. I did the one on my Cougar while at a campground after burning out a rear fiver axle bearing on a cross country trip. I backed the truck under the pin box, used wood blocks to help support and, once it was loose, had the DW drop the nose until we got it two or 3 holes higher up.

Well I installed my new B&W base, set it to lowest height - 17", and placed the arms so that its at 4" behind the axle to increase the down force on the leaf springs. I also raised the pin box (only had one hole left to move it up) with the help of good friend. It appears that my 3500 sits slightly higher than my 2500 did, but hopefully these adjustments will make the trailer ride closer to level. Thanks for the tips.
