Dog hair cleaning tip ..hidden hair

I found another drawer in the hutch that lost it's bottom the other day so pulled it out to fix. The cold air return is in the bottom of the hutch in the 303. While I had the drawer out I peeked inside behind the bottom 2 drawers to see what may be lurking back there. We did look when the first drawer bottom fell offand all was clean fast fwd about 2 plus years and found a sizeable fluffy mound of multi colored dog hair that had gotten sucked under by the cold air return...out came the vaccuum and a note to self to look behind the drawers more often. (already check under the couch)

    Hi Marcy,

Oddly enough, we have a similar multi colored mound of dog hair in the same location .

WRT drawer bottoms . . . I thought we were the only ones losing these. I finally pulled all the drawers last Fall and fixed them all at the same time before our trip south. The fix is easy if you get to it before the bottom has dropped out. From the bottom side, I ran a bead of 2 part thickened epoxy (I use West System) around all four sides. Problem permanently solved.

Thanks to Koda. I am sure we could also find some doggie DNA there!

About the time I think I've "read it all" and consider reducing my time surfing this forum (already dropped others), a new gem of information is found.

    Thank you Marcie and Rob!

If you save all the dog hair, you will eventually have enough to make yourself a sweater

LC, with all the hairy dogs we've had I could have made a king sized comforter or 2 from each dog !

Rob, we lost our first drawer bottom within the first year, let the dealer fix it because it was already going into service...surprising to us they actually did a good job and added wood strips glue and staples to the bottom. The small drawers seem to hold together, it's the big ones in the hutch and the bottoms of the cabinet next to the couch that seem to have fallen out.
