Surge protectors (again)

I need some advise. Most of the time I will be connected to a 30A connection, If I have a 50A surge protector and adapt it down to a 30A service will it still provide adequate protection or do I need to have both a 30 and 50A protector?

As LC says, the 50 A protector will work. When you look at the display you will just see exactly the same voltage reading for each side. But . . . this means that you are still going to have to drag out the heavy 50A cord. Another solution is to get an adapter (essentially a very short 50A cord) that will allow you to use a much lighter 30A cord from the post and keep the surge protector at the trailer.
