    Awning Tie Down

Looking for recommendations for tie downs for my awning on our 2017 297STS. I see a Happy Hook set, looks a little cheap.
    All ideas welcome.
    Thanks,
    Cricket

I used an awning stabilizer kit made by camco on my old TT and it worked very good.

Check you awning manufacturers documentation. Most electric awnings aren't supposed to be tied down. Although, I do see lots of folks doing it.

Thanks for the advice oldguy. This is my first electric awning. I checked my manual and now I won't be using it on my new awning. Something else to get rid of.

There is a guy on Facebook going under the name "Busted Knuckle Awning Poles". He has developed a solution that appears very robust and keeps the awning from going up or down during a wind storm.

The recommendation to not tie down the awning never made sense to me. A bouncing awning is going to damage itself. So, we have always tied ours down in light breezes. If the wind comes up, the awning gets rolled in.

Agree with Rob = when the wind comes up, the awning goes down.

The Busted Knuckles approach looks like it would solve for light winds. I'd like to purchase however I've have quite the list of other add-ons, I've got to stop somewhere. We'll see how the self control thing goes.

I have adjustable awning support poles and tie downs similar to the Busted Knuckles setup. I leave the awning out except with high, gusty winds.
