    fresh water pump in 369rl

anyone experience a noisy water pump in their rig? mine works fine other than being very noisy and having quite a bit of vibration in the floor when running. I really don't use it very much but when I do, it sounds "[glow=red,2,300]nasty[/glow]".

Yes my water pump is also noisy it has been in all of my fifth wheels. I just got use to the noise, use it quite a bit when I dry camp or when camping in cold weather. After a while it becomes a normal noise.

thanks for the input. Not sure if I'll get used to it but fortunately I don't use it much. other than the water pump and the a/c units being a little noisy, our Solitude has been rock solid and we extremely happy with it.

I just got our trailer out of service, and had the same issue. They put a sponge in between the pump and the mounting surface to quiet it down. It seems to have worked, but it usually starts out quiet anyway, and then gets LOUD!

Re: fresh water pump in 369rl

Just a thought. Could the extra noise be caused by poor tank venting? I had an issue with our previous camper where the vent line had a low spot which would fill with water if the FW tank was completely filled. The water pump would be very noisy...would quiet down if I cleared the vent line with compressed air or just left the cap off the gravity fill.

They are loud because of the use of PEX hard piping.

Try adding a loop of flexible hose between the hard lines and the pump...

All good suggestions. Thanks to all. Once I figure out how to get to the pump, I might try the sponge thing and maybe the loop of flex hose. It really sounds like a mounting issue but while I'm in there, might as well try both (one at a time) and let the board know how it goes. Thanks again!

Our water pump is extremely noisy. Louder than any other RV we have owned. When we take it in for a couple minor issues, we are going to see what the dealer can do for it. A couple good ideas here. Betsy.

Ours is also extremely loud and traveling to areas like our current trip to Alaska, we are using our fresh water tank more than we ever have in any 5vr we've had. Like the suggestions for reducing the vibration.

I tried adding additional cushioning to the pump mount. It didn't really help much. It's not that bad during normal operation. It's where the pump has almost reached it's shutdown pressure when it gets the loudest.
