A Couple More Inverter Install Questions

I'm slowly working my way thru my magnum 2012 install. Sure seams to be taking a while to get it done.

So, as you can see in my previous post about my battery install, my batteries are in the front compartment of my 303, I want to install the 2012 inverter on the wall
between the front compartment and the basement, jsut beside the batteries. Only problem with that is that wall is pretty flemsy plyboard of some sort. So I had a wide
mohogany board that I thought I'd screw to it and mount my inverter, cables, fuse, disconect and whatever else to it. Its plenty strong enough. Then in my inverter instructions I
read that it doesnt need to be mounted to wood because of the heat. So....

    1) Does anyone have an idea of a thin, heat resistant material I can layer between the inverter and the wood?? The thinner, the better.

    2) I'm using a sub panel method to install/wire in the inverter, but what do I do about my OEM converter. The guy (PSC Electronics) that I bought the inverter from said to just
disconect it. Is that the correct thing to do?? And how does that affect DC lights/pump/heater/etc when I do hook up to shore power??

    Thanks again,

    1) As usual, Google is your friend:
    https://www.amazon.com/Thermo-Tec-13...c+heat+barrier

This looks like it will fit the bill for mounting the inverter over wood

I'd probably give the inverter a bit of an air gap with spacers under the mounting screws/bolts.
    1/8" or 1/4".

When I mounted my inverter, I screwed 1/4" cement board over a piece of plywood which was screwed to the panel. The solar charge controller and monitor were attached directly to the plywood and panel, and the inverter was placed on the cement board. Works perfectly and that small piece of cement board does not add much weight.
