    2017 29RS 5th wheel trailer awning

Just wondering if someone has installed a motorized awning on the kitchen slide out on a 29RS Reflections 5th wheel. I've been told by my dealer that it may or may not be possible. My kitchen slide has an exterior access entertainment center in it as well.
I'm curious to see if it can be done.
I would like to see a picture(s) if anyone has any

Pm message me with pictures at [email protected]

    Thanks

I would think that adding any more weight to that Schwintek slide might affect it's performance in a negative way.

I'm wondering the same! Is there room above the exterior entertainment center to fit an awning? Really miss the full patio size awning and wondering how to make that happen with the 29RS model.???

Give Grand Design a call. Last Summer I was contemplating purchasing a 315RLTS that had one awning from the entry forward but no awning on the theater seating/dining slide. I found out one of the mid season upgrades was the second awning. I asked the dealer if an awning could be retro fitted to the unit in stock. A conference call was made to GD and we were told no, that there are supports installed for the awning during construction that were absent in the pre-awning unit. I chose to wait for the upgrade. May be a different story with your 5er. Give 'em your vin and they should be able to tell you one way or the other.

Wouldn't the awning be attached above the slideout and not to the slideout? I do agree about adding any additional weight to the slideout. Those Scwintek motors have all they can to do extending the slide as is without the additional weight of a motorized awning.

The extra weight of the awning is not that much. By the time you load up the refridge inside and out, food and such, there is already more weight. The slideout can handle it. The part that will hurt the most is the labor they charge to run the power supply for the awning. A manual awning will cost about 1K. Just add the motor unit to the cost. It would be a nice upgrade but cost is always a factor.
