    Check your slides.

Some of you may have seen my post about the damage to my vinyl floor. Those who haven't, if you have a slide with furniture in it you'll want to check for screws protruding from the bottom of the slide. My slide has a theater seat. It is secured with four screws through the front frame. All four are protruding through the floor. They aren't readily evident. You'll need to look behind the seal. I didn't have a problem until they fixed the recall on the slide. It must have changed the adjustment on the slide. One of the screws tore my vinyl floor. After speaking with the dealer, they advised me not to grind or file the screw points off. They didn't want to damage the sealant on the bottom of the slide. They advised me to back the screws out and they'll replace them with shorter ones and reseal the holes.

Thanks for the info. My 4 weeks old rv is going this Wednesday for the slide recall and fix. Will talk to the service dept. about it.

A Schwintek slide alignment can't change, by design of the system.

They simply ran the screws too deep. The slide runs on set rollers that keep the same clearance.

Something changed. We had the slide in and out a dozen times prior to the recall fix. I originally thought the dealer had the theater seat out and reinstalled it with longer screws. They said they didn't remove it.

I did check my slide today and is perfect (for me)
No screws or anything else noticeable. Will see how the dealer fix the recall part of the slide tomorrow morning. Hope they don't mess-up. It's just 4 weeks old!!!

what were the specifics of the recall? I just picked up a 2018 2800 last week. any chance there is something I should be concerned with regarding a recall? Thanks! Also, I've got the theater seats as well, and appreciate the heads up - I'll be giving that a check soon. Extend the slide and inspect the underside from outside the unit?

Yes you'll have to crawl under the slide and look under the seals.

If you search the forum for "recall" there is a thread on it.
