    nose heavy

I have a 2015 F350 2wd dual rear wheel pulling a 376. I have the heavy suspension and camper package from Ford and I'm still a bit nose heavy. Its not bad, but I was wondering what if anything some of you have done to compensate this?

I'm curious as well. What happened when you were nose heavy? How do you know? We swayed badly in our Canyon. Scared the life out of me. So we bought a new Sierra 2500 and haven't tried it yet. I'm hoping it doesn't sway.

You should not have any problems with your new 3/4 ton truck.

There is quite a difference between the reported 376 fifth wheel and a travel trailer when we're talking about "nose heavy". The handling will be significantly different in both scenarios.

I have a fifth wheel which handles quite a bit differently. That is the reason I went with a fifth wheel so as to avoid those circumstances. I feel very strongly that a fifth wheel is a safer and easier pulling RV. That being said you can purchase a sway control add on that attaches to your TT neck and truck hitch to help you reduce sway while moving and I would strongly suggest you invest in one.

I was surprised that my hitch weight was only 3860 lbs. I expected it to be in the area of 4500. This was fully loaded for full timing with my bike in the back. Total weight was 19,640 lbs without fresh water.

By nose heavy are you referring to the amount of rear suspension squat on your truck. It's not unusual to have air bags installed on a dually given the pin weight of your unit.

I added air bags to our '14 F350 last year. The rear squat was only about 2"' but that was enough that our 380TH could drag the front landing gears coming out of parks or gas stations with a dip in the transistor to the roadway. Adding them really makes no difference in overall ride, but did insure that the truck stays level and keeps us from hearing that annoying scrape of the pads. Our pin weight is 4200 lbs.

So you got no noticeable difference in ride? I sit on the overload springs and on bumps feel like its exaggerated by the OL spring... Was hoping airbags would help...

James3406 - are you sure you are nose heavy or just nose low? I sit about 2" low and was hoping to level out, as well as improve the ride, with some airbags.

    nose heavy

Is your "nose heavy referring to the rig or the tow vehicle?

My F350 definitely rides better with a load. Before adding the airbags the headlights would have been pointing up slightly. Adding them leveled the truck under load. When we are unloaded I reduce pressure to about 15 psi, but we have noticed no improvement in overall ride. I played with various pressures when unloaded but can really see no difference. As I said initially, my goal was more to keep the front landing gear higher when loaded, and that has worked well for me.
