How long do you keep your 5th wheel on your truck?
Strange question. I usually don't pick up my 303 until the morning we're going camping. I'm always worried about having almost 2000 lbs. Of payload weight sitting on the bed of my truck all night. I have a 2017 chevy 2500hd diesel. Is this dumb of me?

The pin weight - plus any dynamic load - is on the truck the whole time you're towing, anyway. We've left the trailer on the truck overnight for one-night stops (although the landing gear usually go down to do some leveling and take a little load off the truck). That means our 2,800 - 3,100 lbs. pin weight is on the truck from one morning until the next evening. No ill effects. Same practices when we had a 2500HD SRW, too.

Our 377MBS stays hooked up 24/7 for weeks at a time. I am a retired GM Master Tech, and see no reason for a time limit of a load in a GM truck? GM trucks love to work! That's what they are designed for. Enjoy it, they won't let you down!!!

Almost always hitch our 303RLS to the truck night before and often leave it hitched at the CG if we want an early start next morning.

I usually connect the night before if an early departure is planned, but leave the landing gear down whether at home, overnight campground or Walmart for weight relief and stability.

My 1 ton Chevy has a payload capacity of 7500 pounds, so the pin weight of 3200 is not much. Never worry about leaving it hooked up for a couple days. For an overnight, I'm usually tired enough to just turn off the truck and get into the camper. If the spot is not level at all, then I will try and get it close without unhitching so I can open the slides.

I guess if the full weight is left on truck for a long time it might compress Springs and create flat spots on tires. I don't think that will happen overnight, JMHO.
