Sanitizing water tank
Not having a manual leaves me with questions that I found are answered by experienced people that are on this forum. My question is, how do you sanitize the water tank more specifically how would one get a small amount of bleach into the tank? The reason I ask is, that we will not be using our rv until March and it had 1/3 full of water. I will drain the tank but would like to perform the procedure before I partially fill it for our trip. Thanks in advance, Boomer

Re: Sanitizing water tank
I've always used a bendable funnel to add the bleach for sanitizing. You can usually find one at most auto parts stores or even a big box store with auto and household stuff.
I don't see where it will be any different with the Reflection.Marcy & Gary

Re: Sanitizing water tank
There's a long and involved procedure in the owner's manual that I won't try to post here. The simplest method is to fill the FW tank with water and bleach, run the water pump, open every faucet and run until you smell bleach solution. I let it sit overnight before I dump and flush a couple of times. The proportion of bleach is 1/4 cup for every 15 gallons of water. The easiest way to add the bleach is to pour the required amount into the water hose before you hook it up to fill the tank. The recommendation is to do it at least once per year.

Is there a reason that you don't have an owners manual?
All the GD models have individual manuals with them. I would start with your selling dealer, as they do come shipped in every rig.Steve- Inventory Manager at Tom Schaeffer's RV, Shoemakersville, PA www.tomschaeffers.com

Re: Sanitizing water tank
Thanks Dave, this helps when I get the unit ready to travel about mid Feb. I also left a msg. For the service mgr. at Trailer Hitch RV about the manual. I have all the individual component manuals but they don't provide all the general info which I'm asking about.

Re: Sanitizing water tank
That is one of the great things about GD, they have a specific manual for each of the lines......Solitude, Reflection, and Momentum.

Re: Sanitizing water tank
FWIW...you can also set the multifunction valves in the docking station to use the water pump suction to draw water or bleach solution into the fresh water tank. I haven't tried this yet as the camper's winterized but this should enable you to fill the camper's FW tank from jerry cans using a short length of water hose and the water pump's suction...that why there's a water pump switch in the docking station.
It's all described in the manual once you get your hands on one.

Re: Sanitizing water tank
Hi @Boomer,
We apologize for the missing owner manual. Please send me a PM with your name, mailing address, phone number, and 17-digit VIN, and I'll research this for you. As @Happy Camper indicated, the sanitization process listed in the manual is detailed and if you include your email in the PM, we can send that information to you.

Shamu. It takes about a month to 6 weeks after you get the Momentum. I got mine in the mail about 6 weeks after I picked up my momentum 385th from the dealer.
