I haven't done this in our Momentum, however, when we lived in a sticks n bricks house I made a change. Our dog would tear up our screen porch door; I replaced it with pet "resistant" screen material. It is much heavier than the traditional screen and held up for two years; it didn't get torn up, we sold our house. It is fairly easy to install, you take out the rubber that holds in the screen, push the new material/rubber back in the track in with a spline rolling tool designed for installing screen.

Yup....got piece of clear plexiglass. Cut it to fit into the lower portion and got 4 screen retains screwed into the frame to hold in place. Keeps the dogs away from the screen. Second benefit is that, at least to a degree, we can keep, the door open and the interior fairly cool.

Here's one more. My fur kids will try to scratch through anything with an opening. And I didn't want to use Plexiglass because I wanted as much air flow as possible. So I bought the screen you see in the picture at Lowes and did a slight modification to allow it to fit the door. I had to cut the arms to the right length, then drill them for the screws. It worked perfectly. I believe the screen is in the Lowes Window and glass section and is made to put over windows so kids can't fall out of upper story windows.

I'd love to do something like this but our German Shepherd head butts doors to get them open. I'm sure that even if the screen held the flimsy plastic door latch wouldn't.

We did this in our travel trailer, before our current Reflection FW. This works great for rottweilers, and should work for any other breed. It also provides an additional handle to grab, to pull the screen door shut, for whatever that is worth. Works well, is light weight, and looks good.

Clear plexiglass with the adjustable metal screen protector and the screen door handle. All three make for a nice looking screen door and keeps the dogs at bay. My dogs ripped off the screen on our first trip.
